Delaware has the fastest growing aging population in the nation. Basically, we want to ensure that older drivers have the skills and supports to maintain their mobility.... Mobility and access to transportation are key issues in order to promote independence for seniors.

Safe and Mobile Delaware
Keeping Delaware’s Older Drivers Safe and Mobile
The Safe and Mobile Delaware campaign is a joint effort to educate older drivers in Delaware about programs and policies that are making the roads safer in Delaware for older Americans and all drivers.
As Delaware’s elderly population grows over the next decade, roadway and intersection designs will become increasingly important to keeping the state’s overall population safe and independent. This calls for state and local policy makers, transportation planners and engineers, social service providers, and community leaders to work together to provide appropriate design strategies and awareness programs.
Support for this program is provided by Roadway Safety Foundation’s Safer Roads initiative.
